House of Study & Library+

The problem of basic education in Indonesia is used to be measured by the percentage of children who can read and cannot read, even though the problem is not as simple as dividing into the two groups, especially in the outermost, underdeveloped and frontier (3T) areas that are far from access to reading sources. If they (the reading group) do not have reading material, then what is the difference between those who cannot read?

However, there are always those who light small candles in the midst of darkness, we observe that in various areas there are so many reading house communities that grow with volunteers. They work together to teach children with minimal references, and try to present a form of independent and creative teaching approach in traditional villages. The efforts of these volunteers should be supported by various parties, especially those who are responsible for developing human resources, improving the quality of young people, the future generation of Indonesia. We want to contribute by proposing the concept, idea, and design of the "Learning House" which is expected to be built in traditional villages, especially in villages that have had reading house activities, at least two years active.

The construction of a “Learning House” as a joint commitment from policy makers will ensure the running of the literacy ecosystem as a solid foundation in building Indonesia's human resources.

Still in the design of Learning Houses, we are trying to develop the concept of a literacy ecosystem that is connected to reading houses in the village, namely Library+. Is a conventional library concept combined with digital book collection management and inventory, and equipped with programs and facilities that allow readers to integrate their reading experience with various other informative facilities and media such as websites, applications, creative shows, podcasts, and amphitheaters.
